Mission Statement
The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, founded in 1939 to help in the evacuation of innocent people from the Nazis, advances human rights and social justice around the world, partnering with those who confront unjust power structures and mobilizing to challenge oppressive policies.

Vision Statement
The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) envisions a world free from oppression and injustice, where all can realize their full human rights.

The Unitarian Universalist Church in Fullerton is an enthusiastic supporter of the UUSC. Nearly 75% of the members of our congregation have joined the UUSC earning for us the “Vision of Justice” award. Our local church committee is intergenerational with our youth working alongside our adult members to promote social justice projects.

The UU Church in Fullerton supports the following UUSC projects:

Guest at Your Table: Members and friends of the UU Church in Fullerton support this yearly UUSC project by helping to raise money during the Holiday season to help combat hunger in various parts of the world.

UUSC Coffee Project: At the UU Church in Fullerton we serve Fair Trade coffee at all our social events and sell Fair Trade coffee and chocolate to our members for use in their own homes. This project assures that farmers throughout the world receive a fair wage for their labors, essential pre-harvest credits, receive technical assistance, learn environmentally sustainable practices, and safe working conditions. Together UU’s from more than 600 congregations purchased more than 45 tons of fairly traded products last year.

Justice Sunday: The focus of the month of March, which culminates on Justice Sunday, is education and advocacy about human rights issues around the world. The goal of our service on Justice Sunday is to educate our congregation and encourage them to act and speak out for justice around the world. Specific projects and various opportunities for action are available year-round.
